Lyda Law Firm's mission is to increase access to high-quality legal services. It was named a finalist for being a pioneer in using alternative fees as a means of achieving access to justice. The practice management software, Practist, developed at the firm for this purpose, is now available to other law firms.
The American Legal Technology Awards' mission is "to hold up examples of excellence in creative innovation and technology in the legal industry for the purposes of (1) expanding our understanding of what is possible, (2) encouraging a virtuous cycle of improvement, and (3) creating a more just society." The law firm award is given to "a law firm or lawyer who utilizes innovation to exceed client expectations in a significant, measurable way."
